Kerry Washington - Arrivals at the CFDA Fashion Awards

Kerry Washington graced red carpet for the 2013 CFDA Awards at the Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

The 'Scandal' actress looks absolutely gorgeous in her lemon silk duchess Jason Wu gown.

I adore the criss-cross open back detail and ruffles cascading on the back of the garment.

This subperb look was finished off with pulled back hair, soft hair, Lanvin bag, and Monique Pean jewelry.

Alicia Keys rocked a leather and sparkly Jason Wu ensemble at the '2013 MET Ball' held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

She wore a leather cut-out halter bodice paired with a burgundy sequined skirt.

The singer teamed her look with side swept burgundy streak hair, Tonya Hawkes clutch, and neutral makeup.

Best Dressed Diva Of The Week: Michelle Obama

Sunday, January 27, 2013

With its Grecian pleating, low back, and cinched waist, Michelle Obama’s stunning scarlet dress would be equally at home on the red carpet.
Michelle Obama was the epitome of elegance at the '2013 Presidential Inaugural Ball' in Washington DC.

She looked stunning in her red velvet panel Jason Wu dress showing off her fabulous shoulders.

Pure Perfection!

The whole world wanted to know what designer Michelle Obama would pick for the '2013 Inaugural Ball'. She opted for another Jason Wu creation. I know he is over the moon with excitement.

The first lady looked phenomenal in her red chiffon velvet panel Jason Wu dress.

She showcased her tone arms once again, and I adore the drape back of the dress.

Soft curly bangs, Kimberly McDonald jewels, Jimmy Choo heels, and her wonderful smile completed her look.

Top 10 New York Fashion Week Looks

Thursday, February 23, 2012

It's the most wonderful time of the year! That's right, it's fall fashion week. Here's the run-down of my top 10 favorite looks from the NYFW fall/winter 2012 runways, in no particular order.

Derek Lam

An oversize peacoat and V-neck sweater tone down a kinky patent leather pencil skirt in the most fantastic way, don't you think?

Rag & Bone

The first look on Rag & Bone's runway, a metallic suit buttoned at the ankle and topped with a striped coat with leather sleeves, is sexy, modern, and of-the-minute.

Marchesa

In the midst of all of Marchesa's enormous frothy gowns was this curve-hugging knockout made of liquid gold. If someone (Angelina! Michelle! Jessica Chastain!) doesn't wear this to the Oscars, I will be gravely disappointed.

Jason Wu

Asian prints are one of the biggest trends this season, and so far my favorite look comes from Jason Wu. This exquisite gilded suit is tailored to perfection and dressy enough for a red carpet event.

Oscar de la Renta

This powder blue confection is fit for a Hollywood princess. I hope petticoats come back in a big way, because this is the sweetest thing I have seen on the runway so far. I would love to see this on Hailee Steinfeld.

Peter Som

Fur bombarded loads of New York runways this season, but the most interesting take was Peter Som's multicolored version. Paired with perfectly slouchy, burgundy leather pants, and the result is downtown cool.

Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso's take on the mullet dress (long in the back and short in the front) is so simple and chic. The pop of burnt orange and bold black arrows perfect the look.

Michael Kors

Michael Kors had one of my favorite shows this season because every single look he sent out was absolutely to die for. His ski bunny knits and rustic furs were out of this world.

Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs' show was an ode to wacky style eccentrics like Anna Piaggi and Lynn Yaeger, but I mainly saw Eliza Doolittle mixed with Dr. Seuss. It was insane, but quite charming. I especially loved this metallic, rose embroidered fuchsia dress. It would look splendid on a dark-haired beauty like Camilla Belle. But don't wear the hat, dear, or you'll have a guaranteed spot on a worst-dressed list. Also, I NEED those metallic pink pilgrim-buckled flats. I predict they will be as hot as the Prada flatforms.

Ralph Lauren

No one does dandy better than Ralph Lauren. I adored his borrowed-from-the-boys sweater vest and tie combos, and this iteration topped off with an ocelot-printed coat was my favorite.

Spring 2012 Trend Report: Peplums

This season, many designers seemed to be inspired by Raf Simons' hugely successful and heavily peplumed spring/summer 2011 collection for Jil Sander. What then seemed like a fun and quirky accent to a minimalist ensemble was reworked in many incarnations this time around, like the futuristic metal peplum at Cushnie et Ochs or the hippie chic peplum at Thakoon. Whether you prefer chic and retro or something edgier, a peplumed ensemble will be the go-to trend for spring/summer 2012.
