Julie Bowen lit up the red carpet at the '2013 Golden Globes' held at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

"The Modern Family" actress looked fabulous in her turquoise one-shouldered draped Halston dress.

She teamed her look with a loose updo, beautiful drop earrings, and clean makeup.

Spring 2011 Trend Report: Peekaboo Shoulders

Fall's erogenous zone may have been the bosom, but come spring, it's all about the shoulder.

Sleeves ruled the runways, but a recurring theme was to slash them at the top, revealing a sliver of skin (Alexander McQueen), or framing the shoulder for a slyly sensual effect (Versace).

While every naughty bit remains covered, the finished product can be quite tantalizing. I figured this out when I wore a BCBG satin pussycat bow blouse with cutout shoulders to work once. My boss (who happens to be my aunt), scolded me gently. "Lovely shirt, but much too sexy for the office!"

I make fun of my mom all the time for being a pack rat, but some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe are her old hand me downs.

She wore this jersey halter dress to a wedding decades ago and it reminds me so much of the fabulous Halston dresses '70s icons like Bianca Jagger or Farrah Fawcett wore to Studio 54 in its heyday.

Dress, vintage; shoes, Jessica Simpson; fur, Arden B.

Spring 2011 Trend Report: 1970s

While 1960s Mad Men esque style reigned supreme on fall's runways, many designers drew inspiration from the hippie era for spring.

From boho chic favorites like flared pants, suede and fringe at Roberto Cavalli to slinky disco appropriate jumpsuits à la Bianca Jagger at Gucci, every sartorial aspect of the decade was touched on this season.
