Halstonesque

I make fun of my mom all the time for being a pack rat, but some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe are her old hand me downs.

She wore this jersey halter dress to a wedding decades ago and it reminds me so much of the fabulous Halston dresses '70s icons like Bianca Jagger or Farrah Fawcett wore to Studio 54 in its heyday.

I Get it from My Momma

Over the years, I've accepted that my mom and I share some uncanny similarities. We're both fiesty little spitfires. We both have a never-failing knack for losing our keys, phones and purses at the worst possible moment. We both like to win arguments. I mean, LOVE.

Recently, my mom discovered a picture of herself in New York City wearing her favorite summer dress, which happens to look an awful whole lot like MY favorite summer dress. Same stripes, same cinched waist, same tie, same straps, same length.

I used to hate it when people say I'm a lot like my mom, but now all I can say is, great minds think alike.
