Think cutouts are passé? Think again. From tasteful slits at Versace to cobwebby crochet at Mark Fast, cutouts of all shapes and sizes are here to stay.  For at least another season.

Not just reserved for the rock chick, this time around cutouts can be an elegant detail, as seen at Altuzarra.

The cutouts you choose should be based on your body type.  Have excellent abs?  Show them off with midriff cutouts.  Razor sharp hipbones?  Slashed hip details will perfectly accent your assets.  Whatever size and shape you are, the designers have you covered... or, um... cut out.

Spring 2011 Trend Report: Crop-Tops

Much chicer than its 1990s Britney Spears/Christina Aguilera era predecessor, the Spring 2011 crop-top is now suitable for grown-ups.

Worn with a high-waisted skirt or trousers to conceal the less flattering lower ab region, the crop-top du jour is sensible for slim women sans six packs.

Whether you choose to bare a scandalous amount of skin with a bra top or just a sliver for a more modest approach, the key to perfecting this trend is fabulous posture and a whole lotta confidence.
