Since I live downtown, I am going to a LOT of events leading up to the Super Bowl. I'm normally not an outfit poster, but I figured it would be a fun way to countdown to the big event!
Day 1: Workwear with an Edge at the Pattern Meetup
I'm usually pretty leery of fashion events in Indy, but I was very impressed by the
Pattern meetup I attended last night. Pattern is a collective of all kinds of people in Indy who are trying to help boost our city's fashion initiative, and I think they are doing a great job. The monthly Pattern meetup was held at
The Speakeasy, brand new membership-based club designed for Indy start-ups. It was a very hip, industrial looking venue, and I'm glad I got to see it since it's closed to the public.
I saw a sneak peak of the magazine Pattern is putting out in March, and it looked fantastic! I can't wait to read it. I also met some cool people like
Paulina Osherov, who was responsible for most of the photos in the upcoming magazine. She is a really talented photographer. Several jewelry designers presented at last night's event, and one of them specifically caught my eye, but I completely forgot her name. If anyone has the designers' info, let me know in the comments! Now, the outfit...
Last night I wore a BCBG jersey dress, metal plate necklace, and two-toned leather gloves with Christian Louboutin studded black pumps. I wore the exact same outfit to work, but just added the necklace. I love the tribal feel of it - it helps sass up boring outfits in a pinch. I'm so unbelievably excited for the upcoming week. Can't wait for all the Super Bowl festivities!
